"It’s always exciting to step outside of our usual story-telling style and viewers will be on the edge of their seats as some of our villagers have their lives irrevocably changed forever.
"Graham has been a huge character at the heart of some of our biggest storylines so it felt only fitting that he left us with an enormous, explosive bang, to kick off what promises to be a massive year of drama for ‘Emmerdale.’ "
The show is yet reveal an official list of suspsects, but the possible cuplrits will become clear to viewers over the next few weeks.
The former ‘Bad Girls’ actor joined the soap as the legal guardian of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and the former assistant of Kim Tate (Claire King) in September 2017.
Last month, it was reported that Andrew, 46, was set to bow out of his role in a massive storyline.
A source said at the time: "Andrew’s been a great addition to the cast and has been involved in some of Emmerdale’s biggest storylines since he arrived in the village in 2017.
"So he was never going to leave in the back of a taxi. His exit will be huge and will kick start a drama filled and action packed year in the Dales."
