Emma Stone suffered bruising on Spider-Man set

Emma Stone suffered a "lot of bruising" while filming ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.

The 25-year-old actress plays Peter Parker’s love interest Gwen Stacy in the superhero adventure and admits the safety equipment she had to wear in order to fly caused painful bruising.

Stone looked to actress Cathy Rigby for inspiration for the scenes after her powerful theatrical performance in Peter Pan won her a Tony Award.

Asked about who she channelled for the role, she told ‘LIVE with Kelly and Michael’ show hosts: "I always wanted to be Cathy Rigby in Peter pan so it felt a little bit like that.

"There’s a lot of harnesses. [Stunt double] Jen Caputo would come into my trailer and just gear me up and it would have to be tighter than you can possibly imagine already. Then, they hoist you and there’s a lot of bruising. But it’s good bruising because you’re like Cathy Rigby."

Stone enjoyed filming behind the backdrop of iconic landmarks in New York City and was surprised by the crowds of people who gathered to watch.

She said: "It was pretty cool. It’s a pretty busy place and you’re shooting in all these location that people know like Union Square or Chinatown, you know, there’s a lot of people behind the barricade."
