Emma Stone appreciates success

Emma Stone doesn’t take her success for granted.

The ‘Birdman’ actress, who was nominated for an Oscar this year, still appreciates all the opportunities that come her way because she remembers what rejection feels like.

She said: "I still remember crying on my couch a few years ago when I didn’t get some roles I wanted. That makes this time in my life that much more meaningful."

The 26-year-old actress recently wrapped up her stint on Broadway in ‘Cabaret’ and is gearing up for the release of her next film, ‘Aloha,’ in late May, but insists she hasn’t become a workaholic.

She said: "I enjoy my time off and make sure that I don’t lose sight of my friends and family. Sometimes it’s hard to go out in public as much as I’d like, with photographers following me to my favourite café. I still don’t understand why it’s so interesting to take photos of me drinking coffee!"

Despite being uncomfortable with some aspects of fame, Emma admits acting has helped her anxiety.

She told OK! magazine: "I’m much more secure now, but I still deal with anxiety. Acting is a way of overcoming it, because it allows me to make use of my overly sensitive side and channel all that nervous energy, which would otherwise be an obstacle. My work is such an important outlet – I can’t imagine my life without it."
