Emilia Fox’s daughter doesn’t consider acting a career

Emilia Fox’s daughter doesn’t believe acting is a respectable career.
The 43-year-old ‘Silent Witness’ star has revealed her seven-year-old daughter Rose with former partner Jeremy Gilley has no desire to become part of the Fox family acting dynasty.
When appearing as a guest on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Emilia shared: "The other day when she was telling us about being born, going to school, going to university and getting a job, one of the family asked her if she would go to drama school and her reply was, ‘Acting is not a job it’s an activity.’ I had to agree with her!"
Emilia is the daughter of actors Edward Fox and Joanna David and her brother Freddie Fox is also in the industry. Her uncle is the actor James Fox and her cousins Laurence, Jack and Lydia all have successful thespian careers.
The ‘Silent Witness’ beauty has played pathologist Dr. Nikki Alexander in the BBC crime drama since 2014, but admitted she still struggles to learn the medical jargon required for her role.
Emilia confessed: "It is shameful actually. This is my 14th year and I think in that time I could have become a pathologist but in reality, I would be very ill-equipped to do anything. I’ve actually had sleepless nights trying to remember complicated drug names and procedural terms."
And the actress also revealed a bizarre phobia – of flowerpots.
She said: "I don’t like flowerpots – the unglazed ones are horrible. I wouldn’t run away, but I wouldn’t pick one up either. I have the same feeling towards belly buttons!"
Emilia has previously admitted being a working single mother requires a lot of juggling.
She said: "Being a single mother is all about juggling, but you get better at juggling’ she reasoned, adding ‘Sometimes it goes wrong!’"
The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One on Friday May 4 at 10.35pm.
