Emeli Sandé: I have a great partnership with Jay Z

Emeli Sandé has revealed she has a "great partnership" with Jay Z.
The 29-year-old singer recently changed management when she signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation halfway through making her new album ‘Long Live The Angels’, and she has revealed that she feels "really supported" by the 46-year-old rapper and his team.
Speaking on UK radio station BBC Radio 1 – on which she debuted her new single ‘Hurts’ – she said: "I feel really supported by them. It’s been a really great partnership so far. It just all came into plan and I was in New York with my mum and dad and we ended up going into the building and my mum was cracking jokes with Jay Z and it was all a bit surreal."
And the ‘Next To Me’ hitmaker also recounted the surreal moment when she met the ‘Empire State of Mind’ musician – who is married to Beyoncé – a few years ago.
She said: "I met him (Jay Z) a few years ago, I went to the ‘Great Gatsby’ premiere and I kinda got pushed into this circle with him and Leonardo DiCaprio and I was like ‘Hi I’m Emeli, I’m a singer.’ "
The BRIT award winner’s upcoming third album comes after a four-year break in recording, with her last album ‘Our Version of Events’ being released in 2012. She revealed that whilst her break gave her time to "reconnect", she admits she "really wanted" to get back into the studio.
She said: "I just felt like I really want to get back in the studio; better myself as a song writer, singing, I just really wanted to up the levels of the music. So I’ve kinda just been in studios a lot, travelling around and just reconnecting with my family and friends, just getting back to life and writing songs to be honest."
‘Long Live The Angels’ is due to be released on November 11.
