Ellie Goulding had to be her own support act on tour

Ellie Goulding was forced to support herself on tour after Years & Years cancelled their opening slot.
The 29-year-old popstar, who is currently touring the United States, took to Twitter to reveal that she would in fact be opening her own concert in St Louis on Monday evening (16.05.16) after the ‘King’ hitmakers were forced to pull out due to illness.
The ‘Delirium’ hitmaker tweeted: "I think I’m opening for myself in St Louis #gettheguitar"
Fans posted pictures of Ellie on social media, showing the blonde singer on stage at the Chaifetz Arena with an acoustic guitar and dressed in black trousers, a black Givenchy t-shirt and a pair of trainers.
A fan who was at the gig tweeted: "No opening act, no problem! @elliegoulding comes out for an acoustic set at @ChaifetzArena!"
After the gig, Ellie admitted it was a "bit weird" and joked she had found a name for her alter ego.
She told a fan: "It was a bit weird not gona lie … my alter ego is called Victoria sponge" (sic).
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that Years & Years -which includes Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen – were forced to cancel the rest of their US tour dates after doctors ordered Olly to take a break.
A statement released by the band reads: "It is with great regret and sadness that we have to cancel our remaining US shows with Ellie Goulding. It has been no secret that Olly has been unwell recently and we have been advised that he needs immediate rest to make a swift and full recovery. We are very sorry and want to say a big thank you to Ellie and her team for having us and to everyone that came to see us."
Years & Years also cancelled other dates earlier this month after Olly was left bedridden by a viral infection.
