Ellie Goulding brings forward album release date

Ellie Goulding has brought forward the release of her next album.

The Destiny singer had been planning to put out her sixth record, the follow-up to 2023’s Higher Than Heaven, late next year but now she is expecting a baby with partner Beau Minniear, the record will hit shelves at some point in the first three months of 2026.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Next year is going to be amazing for Ellie.

“She’s becoming a mum for the second time, which feels like such a blessing, and now she’s moving things around to fit her new schedule.

“Her next album was scheduled to come out later next year but, because of the baby, she’s brought it forward.

“The record is like another baby for Ellie and she couldn’t be more excited about her fans hearing it.

“Destiny showed how much Ellie has grown and evolved as an artist and she is so proud of that song.

“The other tracks on the album are very much in this vein and Ellie’s voice sounds better than ever.

“By moving the release date forward, Ellie can get the record out to her fans before having a break with the baby. She has worked so hard on this record and it shows such a different side to her creatively.

“It’s going to be the best year yet.”

The 38-year-old singer recently credited working on the album for helping her overcome her heartbreak at the end of her marriage to Caspar Jopling, the father of her four-year-old son Arthur.

She told NME: “It doesn’t matter how strong a character you have, when it comes to separating from your husband, you can never be strong enough for that. It’s like a grieving process because you’ve lost not just the person, but the life that was projected for you.

“It was a long process, and it felt really triumphant to start waking up in the morning and, little by little, starting to feel it less. It’s never gone away, and only time will tell if it ever will… but it’s been a process of everyday feeling a little bit better.

“That to me was such a victory. To be able to channel things like that into poetry and lyrics, and then put it into songs like Destiny, it just felt like a triumph.

“I felt proud that I’d taken these steps to feel myself again. We’re never gonna escape pain; we have to use it for good and make it into something.”

Elliea dmitted she “didn’t know what else to do” apart from turn to music to get through such a difficult time.

She said: “I didn’t know what else to do other than make music.

“So I saw Jack Rochon, who was producing mostly trap music at the time, playing guitar on Instagram in such a beautiful way that I was immediately fixated. So I DM’ed him saying I wanted to work with him, and we met up that same day to start the journey.”
