Ed Sheeran wanted to release a "Meowalbum" featuring his twin cats Dorito and Calippo.
The 26-year-old singer/songwriter was dead set on making a record where his songs are sung by the purrs and meows of pussies, but ditched his plans when he found out it had already been done before.
According to The Sun newspaper, he said: "I really, really wanted to make a Meowlbum, which is all my songs with Meow in it.
"My cats are twin sisters and amazing in their own way."
Though a feline-featuring record is no longer on the cards, fans of the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker can expect a ‘Despacito’ sounding version of his latest single ‘Perfect, which features a massive star, who will be unveiled later today (28.11.17).
The smash single from the flame-haired star’s latest LP ‘Divide could be about to shift up the charts with the updated Latin version due for release on December 1.
Ed recently revealed: "I’ve got something dropping next Friday. It’s a really f***ing big deal. And I’ll drop who I’m doing it with next Thursday."
Asked what it will sound like, he said: "The vibe is that it’s a remix to ‘Perfect’. I’m just basically going to ‘Despacito’ Perfect."
Ed played his final concert of the year at Dubai’s Autism Rocks Arena last week.
Before hitting the stage, the megastar enjoyed a tasty meal at Rihanna’s favourite Caribbean joint Miss Lily’s, which is located at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in the city.
According to The National, the ‘Castle on the Hill’ singer – who claimed he and his support act on the US leg, James Blunt, devoured 1,000 chicken wings between them on the road – ordered jerk corn, hot pepper shrimp and jerk chicken.
During his two-hour performance at the arena, he told the crowd he "didn’t expect to be on stage" after his cycling accident last month which saw him break both his arms.
