Ed Sheeran watches fans’ reactions to Divide on YouTube

Ed Sheeran spent "six hours" watching YouTube videos of fans’ reactions to his new LP ‘Divide’.
The 26-year-old singer/songwriter dropped the record on Friday (03.03.17) and has been keen to find out what people think of his latest outing, and the video sharing site has proved useful in garnering the opinions of his following.
He revealed: "I spent six hours last night (05.03.17) watching YouTube reaction videos.
"It just makes me smile the whole time."
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker also opened up about some of the darker songs on the record and how they were written on the road at times when he was feeling sad when he was away from his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
Speaking on ‘Entertainment Tonight’, he said: "I’ve always made my albums on the road. The road isn’t always happy. It’s not the most stable place for a relationship or a life.
"There are some dark, dark moments on the album. My life isn’t like that now. Those songs were basically written a while back and I felt they should be on the album, because you can’t just have an album that’s all positive. It has to have light and shade."
Despite missing the 24-year-old hockey player when he is on tour, Ed would love to still be touring and making music for as long as possible.
He said: "I’d love to still be touring. I want to be doing this for the rest of my life."
