Ed Sheeran to release new track

Ed Sheeran will release a new track from ‘÷’ on Friday (17.02.17).
The 25-year-old singer took to Instagram on Wednesday night (15.02.17) to share the news that a new song entitled ‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’ – which he stressed was "not the next single" – would be released from his upcoming album, which is due on March 3.
Posting a picture of piano keys on a blue background, Ed wrote: "How Would You Feel (Paean) comes out at midnight on Friday wherever you are in the world, it’s not the next single, but is one of my favzzzzz (sic)"
The new track will be the third released from ‘÷’ so far, and follows singles ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Castle on the Hill’ which debuted number one and two respectively on the Official UK Chart after their release last month.
Meanwhile, Ed – who is in a relationship with his former school friend Cherry Seaborn – previously admitted to having "scrapped six songs" from the record at the request of frequent collaborator Rick Rubin.
He recalled: "[Rick Rubin] walked out of the house and said, ‘Write more songs.’
"I was like, ‘Oh, ow.’ No one was jumping for joy at the label and I thought there must be a reason. So I looked at it again and scrapped six songs."
And the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ singer wasn’t upset by the criticism as he knows the key to longevity is to be willing to take advice.
He said: "It is my vision – but the reason those artists who have a light that shines for five years then disappear is they don’t listen to other people.
"I can’t think I know everything. I know how to write a song and put together an album of good songs, but sometimes it’s difficult to tell which songs should or shouldn’t be on an album.
"But ultimately the album has improved because of it."
