EastEnders’ Tilly Keeper teases ‘big storyline’

EastEnders’ Tilly Keeper has teased that there will be a "big storyline" for the Mitchell family when patriarch Phil makes his returns to Albert Square next month.
The hardman – portrayed by Steve McFadden – hasn’t been seen in Walford since the beginning of the year when he whizzed off abroad to recover from his liver transplant surgery, but it looks like all of that is about to change as he’s expected to arrive back on the square within the next few weeks, although it won’t be without "drama".
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Tilly – who plays Phil’s daughter Louise Mitchell in the programme – told The Sun newspaper: "It’s a very big storyline between all of us. We can’t say too much, but expect big drama."
And the show’s executive producer Sean O’Connor thinks viewers will be pleasantly surprised when they see Phil strutting his stuff again because he’ll be a "changed man"
He said recently: "Steve McFadden is a mesmerising actor. Every scene he does with absolute commitment and conviction. It’s amazing to watch how he does it. He’s great at rage and pent up aggression, but he was at his most moving after the death of Peggy. And when he told Sharon that he loved her just before he was taken away for his liver transplant on Christmas Day was so touching. It has been very rewarding finding fresh material for Phil. His days of being a hard man are coming to an end and he has had a real wake-up call after the transplant. He knows that he has a second chance now and it’s given him food for thought. Has he had a good life? Can he right the wrongs of the past? And even if he wants to, does he have the time to do it?"
