EastEnders’ Stuart to take ‘sadistic pleasure’ in Mick hunt

EastEnders’ Stuart Highway will take "sadistic pleasure" in being hunted down by Mick Carter.
Queen Vic landlord Mick – played by Danny Dyer – will be out for revenge after learning the calculated character (Ricky Champ) has been up to no good with his wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) while he has been behind bars.
But with Stuart so desperate to be like Mick, he quite enjoys having him so nearby while he is attempting to wreak revenge.
Ricky said: "What I will tease is that there is a bit of sadistic pleasure in Stuart being scared of Mick.
"For most of the year, we’ve been playing this obsession that Stuart has with Mick – he almost wants to become him, which is so weird. I’ve even been studying Danny Dyer’s mannerisms to try and copy him as Mick to try and literally step in his shoes. That has been really fun to play.
"But I think when all this comes out and Mick’s eyes are firmly on Stuart for revenge, there is a bit of a sadistic pleasure in there for Stuart because it’s about Mick wanting to hang around him – even if it is to kill him."
Stuart’s creepy ways came to a head in last night’s (13.12.18) dramatic two-hander involving just Ricky and Kellie – and the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star admits it was "daunting" filming an episode featuring just two characters.
He added to Digital Spy: "It was great. It was such a challenge. When I first saw the script, it just said ‘full cast list, Stuart and Linda’ – that was daunting enough. But then we had a 58-page dialogue and 17 scenes, just the two of us. It was daunting, but ultimately a brilliant experience.
"Stuart was very nervous in this episode – he is about to accomplish what he has wanted to do all along and there is a nervousness because of that."
