EastEnders star Milly Zero wants Charlie Cotton return

Milly Zero wants Charlie Cotton to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 20-year-old star took on the role of Dot’s granddaughter Dotty last year, and with her on-screen grandmother away from Walford she would like to see her alter ego’s estranged half-brother – who was played by Declan Bennett until 2017 – back in Albert Square.
She told Digital Spy: "That would be really interesting as Dotty is a bit of a lone wolf right now.
"Even though she lives with Sonia and Whitney, she isn’t really related to them and they don’t really have her back in the way that family does.
"I think having her family in the Square would be really interesting. I’d be really keen to explore that."
Milly also insisted the door is open for June Brown – who played grandmother Dot from 1985 until her departure earlier this year – to make a return, although she doesn’t know how likely it is.
She said: "I really enjoyed the small amount of time we worked together. She’s so funny, so clever and she’s just a brilliant actress.
"The door is left open for her to return and obviously she’s gone off and come back before, but I’m not too sure what’s going to happen."
June has been a regular in Albert Square since the soap began, although she took a break between 1993 and 1997, and another in 2012 when she was working on her autobiography.
Back in February, the 93-year-old soap veteran revealed she had left the show "for good" and she even snubbed the offer of a retainer contract which would allow her to return in the future.
She said at the time: "I don’t want a retainer for ‘EastEnders’, I’ve left. I’ve left for good.
"I’ve sent her off to Ireland where she’ll stay. I’ve left ‘EastEnders’. I did make up a limerick. It’s a bit dirty.
"I went back to do a good story. Alas and alack, when I got back it had gone up in smoke.
"I got a small part, a very small part. And that ended up as a big wet fart. Alas and alack, I will never go back."
