EastEnders’ Phil set for dramatic Keanu boat showdown

EastEnders’ Phil Mitchell is set for a dramatic showdown with Keanu Taylor as part of the show’s 35th anniversary episodes.
The Walford hardman – played by Steve McFadden – will be involved in a punch up with his nemesis Keanu (Danny Walters) during the Carters’ Queen Vic boat party on the River Thames during the BBC One soap’s nail-biting anniversary week eps.
Keanu came face-to-face with Phil’s son Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) on last night’s (10.02.20) episode after returning to Albert Square late last week.
And in a new epic trailer released ahead of the milestone, Phil is seen involved in a boat brawl with Keanu.
It is known that one of the characters will meet their maker during the anniversary week episodes, and in the clip two people are seen falling into the Thames – but their identities are not clear.
Elsewhere, Ian Beale is seen trying to smash a door down with a fire extinguisher.
And the soap have dropped another trailer entitled ‘Family Means Everything’, in which a furious Phil returns to Walford.
The trailer’s voice says: "Family means getting together and having a laugh, making sure everyone’s alright, because sometimes a smile isn’t what it seems. Family means making mistakes and having regrets.
"It means keeping it together when you’re falling apart and knowing some family you choose, and some you don’t. Family means keeping safe, but when it all kicks off you stand up for your own, because family means being there no matter what.
"Family means new arrivals and starting again, burying the past and living with the consequences. Because whatever life throws at you, family means everything."
EastEnders’ executive producer Jon Sen recently teased "gripping and heart-breaking" boat-based drama for the soap’s 35th anniversary episodes.
He said: "For the 35th anniversary, we wanted to entertain the ‘EastEnders’ audience on the iconic river which has heralded the start of the show for 35 years.
"This unmissable week of episodes is destined to be exciting, gripping and heart-breaking – it will be a week that will go down in ‘EastEnders’ history."
