EastEnders’ Jacqueline Jossa wants her character to be serial killer

EastEnders’ star Jacqueline Jossa wants her character Lauren Branning to become a serial killer.

The 21-year-old actress – who has played the recovering alcoholic since 2010 – hopes the brunette beauty will become a murderer and will make Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) and Jake Stone (Jamie Lomas) her first victims.

Lucy will be killed off this Spring after being slaughtered by a fellow resident, and Jacqueline admits the identity of the killer is the hot topic among her co-stars on set.

She said: "Everyone keeps saying I’m the favourite to kill Lucy but no one has a clue. She could turn into this raging murderer!"

Jake is also being written out of the BBC One soap in coming weeks after Jamie failed to have his one-year contract renewed, and Jacqueline thinks Lauren would be the best person to kill him off.

She explained: "I don’t know how he goes but I’ve got a little bit of an inkling. Maybe Lauren will do him in, too!"

Show bosses are remaining tight-lipped on who brutally murders Lucy, but the cast is already taking bets on who the culprit will be.

Jacqueline told The Sun newspaper: "Everyone keeps asking each other and we are all putting bets on who we think it will be.

"I’ve been looking at all the scripts trying to get clues. But there are so many. But then you think, ‘Oh no it can’t be them’, so I’ve got no idea. The writers aren’t letting anything out of the bag."
