EastEnders’ Jack Branning’s son Ricky re-cast

Frankie Day has joined ‘EastEnders’.
The youngster made his debut in the BBC One soap on Monday night (13.08.18) as Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) son Ricky after show bosses recast the character, who was played by Henri Charles from 2016.
Frankie was spotted on screen on Monday when his alter-ego injured himself while playing football, leaving him with a sprained ankle.
But his injury had further repercussions because Jack was forced to cut short his romantic afternoon with Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) to head out to collect the youngster.
While Jack was out getting his boy, his daughter Amy Mitchell (Abbie Knowles) used the opportunity to interrogate Mel, even asking her if she was going to be her new mum, which comes after her mother Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) tragically died in January 2017.
But the multiple questions put an already unsure Mel off, and she left swiftly when Jack returned.
Ricky’s re-casting comes just months after Pernille Broch, who played Jack’s au pair Ingrid Solberg, left the soap when her character fled Walford to go travelling around the world.
Ingrid first stepped foot in Albert Square in June 2017 when she was handed the job as Jack’s au pair to look after Amy and Ricky following the tragic passing of his wife Ronnie Mitchell (Sam Womack) and her sister Roxy.
Life could’ve been different for Ingrid as she and Jack kissed just a few months after she arrived in Albert Square, but the pair decided not to pursue any romantic interests any further.
