EastEnders fans stunned as Stacey Fowler makes shock cameo

‘EastEnders’ viewers were shocked as Stacey Fowler returned in Tuesday night’s (26.05.20) episode.

The character – played by Lacey Turner – was forced to depart Walford in August last year after she attacked Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) with a wrench, to tie in with the actress’ maternity leave, but she made an audio cameo last night during a conversation with Davood Ghadami’s character Kush Kazemi.

During the conversation, Stacey could be heard asking Kush if their son Arthur is OK, and asking about her mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who Kush accidentally gave an overdose of her prescription pills recently after he discovered she hadn’t taken them.

Jean has since thrown Kush and the kids out of the house.

Stacey asked Kush: "How’s mum?"

But Kush lied: "She’s fine. She’s absolutely fine."

Fans were delighted about Lacey’s audio cameo, and questioned when she might return to the soap.

One wrote: "When is Stacey coming back? I miss her #EastEnders (sic)"

And others were pleased to hear Stacey’s voice again.

One posted: "Stacey’s phone call cameo? Best moment of 2020? Definitely #EastEnders (sic)"

Another shared: "hearing stacey’s voice has saved me omg! #EastEnders (sic)"

One tweeted: "STACEY I’VE MISSED THAT VOICE #EastEnders (sic)"

Lacey – who has played Stacey since 2004 – gave birth to her daughter Dusty in July last year, but later admitted she found pregnancy "quite difficult" after previously suffering two miscarriages.

She said: "I found pregnancy quite difficult as I couldn’t allow myself to be excited because of previous experiences, so it seemed very long.

"I was fascinated with my body and the changes it made and how incredible it is, but I also found the adjustments very hard at times especially towards the end."
