EastEnders’ Danny Dyer’s advice wasted on Sam Strike

‘EastEnders’ star Sam Strike says Danny Dyer has given up trying to help him with girls.

The 20-year-old actor plays Johnny Carter in the BBC One soap with Danny, 36, taking on the role of his father Mick and, although his on-screen character is more interested in men, in real life he claims he has trouble with the ladies.

Quizzed on whether Danny had been giving him any tips on how to pick-up girls, Sam exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Well they’d be redundant, you know, I’m kind of like…not very good at talking to girls anyway. So I think he knows not to bother. He has tried in the past."

The young heartthrob confessed that prior to joining the soap with ‘The Football Factory’ star last Christmas, he was worried that they wouldn’t get along.

He explained: "I was kind of concerned that Danny is a proper lad and I’m more of a skateboarder-surfer kind of guy. So I was a bit worried about that, but no he’s lovely and it didn’t matter."

Sam, who is known for playing Daniel ‘Dan’ Morgan in the CBBC’s M.I. High, praised his on-screen father and admitted he feels privileged to have joined the cast at the same time as him.

He added: "He’s lovely, a really nice guy and obviously very good at what he does. I was lucky to come into it with him. He’s great."
