Duke of Sussex relishes sharing ‘personal joy’ of baby announcement

The Duke of Sussex is delighted he’s been able to share his baby joy with the people of Australia.
The 34-year-old royal and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, recently announced they are expecting their first child together, and the Duke has spoken of his happiness during a speech at the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday (20.10.18).
The Duke – who is currently on a 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga with his wife – told a crowd: "First of all, thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days.
"I have been so proud to be able to introduce my wife to you and we have been so happy to be able to celebrate the personal joy of our newest addition with you all."
The Duke also spoke enthusiastically about the Invictus Games, which is a Paralympic-style event for wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel.
He said: "Our Invictus family has turned these games into a symbol of strength, honour and optimism for a new generation."
Meanwhile, the Duchess recently revealed she’s been waking up in the early hours of the morning to do yoga because she cannot sleep.
The former ‘Suits’ actress told Charlotte Waverley about her sleepless nights, and how her pregnancy feels like "having jet lag".
Charlotte – who met the Duchess in Sydney – said: "Meghan told me that pregnancy was like having jet lag. She said she was up at 4.30am this morning doing yoga in her room as she couldn’t sleep.
"It’s a bit of a double whammy for her, she said, as she has both the baby and the jet lag to content with."
