Britain’s Duchess of Cornwall has received help in decorating Clarence House’s Christmas tree from a specially-invited group of young people.
The 68-year-old royal – who invites guests to decorate the tree every year – has, on this occasion, invited young people who are supported by Helen & Douglas House Hospice and The London Taxidrivers Fund for Underprivileged Children.
The Duchess is a patron of both charities, and the children were welcomed by Her Royal Highness before also being greeted by Captain Matt Wright in his full Welsh Guards uniform.
Together, the duchess and the children decorated the tree at the royal residence.
Meanwhile, Prince William recently admitted he fears he won’t get any sleep this Christmas, because of his two young children.
The future king – who has a two-year-old son called George and a seven-month old daughter called Charlotte, with the Duchess of Cambridge – revealed his oldest child has suddenly become aware of the significance of Christmas.
Asked what he’ll be doing to mark the big day, the prince said: "Well, if I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it’ll be good, because George will be bouncing around like a rabbit. I think George will be extremely bouncy this year because he’s suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about.
"So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I’m looking forward to it."
