Duchess of Cambridge’s former secretary ties the knot

The former private secretary to the Duchess of Cambridge got married at St James’s Palace on Saturday (25.03.17).
Rebecca Deacon – who worked for the British royal family for a decade before resigning earlier this year – wed Adam Priestley at the Chapel Royal.
Before doing so, however, Rebecca required the go-ahead of the Duchess, as the venue can only be used by people with a direct link to the royal family.
Rebecca – who was appointed as the Duchess’ private secretary in 2012 – wore a traditional white gown for her big day and was spotted waving at well wishers as they left the wedding venue, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
During her time with the royal family, Rebecca was often seen at the Duchess’ side during her official engagements.
Meanwhile, the Duchess recently encouraged families to talk to mothers about how they are feeling, in recognition of Mother’s Day (26.03.17) in the UK.
The 32-year-old royal argued the annual day of honouring maternal bonds is the best time to discuss the stresses and strains of parenthood.
She said: "I would love to see everyone celebrate and value the fundamental importance mothers play in family life."
The British royal – who shares Prince George, three, and 22-month-old Princess Charlotte with her husband Prince William – said it is important people are conscious of the demands of motherhood.
She explained: "Mothers take on an overwhelming responsibility for caring for their families. Their role is vital in providing unconditional love, care and support at home, particularly in the early years a child’s development.
"It is right to talk about motherhood as a wonderful thing, but we also need to talk about its stresses and strains."
