Duchess Catherine’s spider hunts

Duchess Catherine spends "hours" on "spider hunts" with her children.
The 36-year-old royal – who has Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, five months, with husband Prince William – made her first official appearance since giving birth to her youngest child in April on Tuesday (02.10.18) and told children from St. Stephen’s School who were visiting Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden in Paddington, London, that she had no problem joining them in a hunt for mini beasts.
Zoe Stroud, interim Head of Sayers Croft Forest School, said: "[Catherine] was lovely — although she said the only mini beast she managed to find on the hunt was a slug! But she did see a frog under a log.
"She really gets what we are doing here and said she often takes her children on spider hunts in their garden, which they love. They can spend hours out there."
Catherine delighted another little girl on the visit when the youngster asked her: "Why are they picturing you?"
The duchess held the girl’s hand and said: "They’re picturing you cause you’re special!"
Catherine joined the children to the facility for story time and helped hand out cups of juice and paper to make crowns, before assisting the kids in finding leaves for their crowns.
The Sayers Croft Forest School aims to involve children in the environment by providing outdoor facilities for those who may otherwise be unable to access them and is visited by schools from Westminster and other neighbouring boroughs.
Zoe said: "It’s really important for the schools and children who live in council flats and have no outside space at home."
Catherine also met Dr. Paul Knapman, representative deputy lieutenant for The City of Westminster, and was introduced to a number of prominent community figures.
