Duchess Catherine sparks baby girl rumour with pink paint

Britain’s Duchess Catherine has sparked rumours she’s having a girl after being sent pink paint.

The duchess and her husband, Prince William, have kept the gender of their unborn child a closely guarded secret, but speculation the tot could be a girl has been initiated after three pots of pink paint were sent to Amner Hall on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where the couple live.

According to the Daily Mail newspaper, three shades of pink were ferried to their home by Oxford-based interior design company Annie Sloan, with many speculating the feminine colour could be used to paint the walls of the baby’s nursery.

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the matter, while Annie Sloan said they could not "confirm or deny" they had supplied paints to the couple.

Last month, the 33-year-old beauty revealed the child – which will be a younger sibling to 20-month-old Prince George – is expected to be born at the "mid-to-end of April".

According to British bookmaker William Hill, the chances of the unborn child being a girl stand at 8/11, while there are even odds on it being a boy.

Many people speculating over the baby’s gender have also pointed out the duchess has been indulging in sugary treats, which is a traditional sign the child is a girl, while there have also been unconfirmed reports she has been shopping for clothes for a baby girl.
