Duchess Catherine attends Wimbledon

Duchess Catherine cheered on Andy Murray at Wimbledon on Monday (03.07.17).
The 35-year-old royal – who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club – appeared to be in her element yesterday as she sat in the front row of the Royal Box and watched the Scottish tennis player defeat Alexander Bublik, 20.
Play had to be stopped twice due to bad weather as the roof was not covering the pitch but the brunette beauty – who was sporting a shorter ‘do – didn’t let the downpour dampen her spirits as she fist pumped the air during the game.
And it’s no wonder Catherine – who is married to Prince William – was over the moon to be at the tournament as she was banned from attending the final in 2013 because she was heavily pregnant with her son George, now three years old.
Speaking in a new BBC documentary, according to the Daily Mail newspaper, she explained her absence from the match: "I was very heavily pregnant."
However, the duchess wrote to Andy – who was playing Novak Djokovic at the time – afterwards to apologise for her not being there to watch him claim the title again.
She added: "I wrote to him [Murray] afterwards saying sorry for not being there."
Catherine – who has a tennis court installed at her Amner Hall home – has always been an avid player and even dreamed of being a professional at one time.
She said: "Being able to go into Wimbledon and be part of an amazing atmosphere is special. It inspires young people including myself.
"Every time Wimbledon is on I am thinking ‘Yes, I could do the same’ and get out the racket. Sadly, not the same results."
