Dua Lipa’s brother Gjin finds AJ Tracey ‘really inspiring’ as he forges out music production career

Dua Lipa’s younger brother, Gjin, has found AJ Tracey “really inspiring” as he forges out a career in music production.

The ‘Illusion’ hitmaker’s 18-year-old sibling followed his 28-year-old pop superstar sister into music after hitting it off with ‘Ladbroke Grove’ rapper star AJ, 30, when they filmed Dua’s ‘Studio 2054’ livestream concert, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Gjin really knows his stuff when it comes to hip-hop and grime.

“During lockdown he got really into music production and now he is making tentative steps to work in that field.

“Being mates with AJ has been really inspiring for him too.

“His music is totally different from what his big sister does and will be more behind the scenes as a producer.”

Last year, Gjin revealed he had co-produced British hip-hop act A1 x J1’s track ‘Scary’ alongside J Moon.

Meanwhile, Dua recently teased she is hoping Cyndi Lauper will join her at Glastonbury.

The ‘Levitating’ hitmaker is preparing to headline the Pyramid Stage at the world-famous festival next month, and not only is she excited to treat fans to some songs from her new album ‘Radical Optimism’, as well as her classic singles, she’s keen to take a nod to the past by inviting the ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ singer out on stage at Worthy Farm.

A source told Bizarre: “Dua is raring to go for Glastonbury and she can’t wait for people to hear her new music.

“She knows the record will strike a chord with her fans but for the old school musos at the Farm, she wants a touch of nostalgia.

“Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, who worked on Radical Optimism with Dua is another.

“She wants this set to go down in history.”

Dua herself has admitted she has spent a lot of time thinking about her performance.

Speaking to the BBC, she shared: “I think about it all the time.

“50 per cent of my thoughts go to Glastonbury, then the rest are for everyday tasks.”
