Dua Lipa hails Glastonbury as a ‘dream come true’

Dua Lipa has hailed her Glastonbury performance as a “massive dream come true”.

The 28-year-old pop star took to the Pyramid stage on Friday night (28.06.24), and Dua admitted that it was the realisation of a long-held dream.

The ‘New Rules’ himaker – who performed for 1 hour 45 minutes – told the crowd: “Wow, Glastonbury!

“It’s a lot to take in. Can we put the house lights on? I want to see everybody … Oh man, this is a massive, massive dream come true for me.”

Dua revealed that headlining Glastonbury was actually a goal that she set herself many years ago.

The singer said: “When I wrote it down I was very specific. I said I wanted to headline the Pyramid Stage on a Friday … because then I knew I could party for the next two days in the best place on Earth!”

Dua confessed to being in a state to disbelief, as she looked out at the huge crowd on Worthy Farm.

The London-born star shared: “I can’t believe I’m right up here, right here with you guys.”

Dua also thanked her fans for their support, and acknowledged that headlining the festival was the “maddest night” of her life.

She said: “This has been the maddest night of my life. A dream come true.

“People as far as I can see. Thank you.”

Dua’s set featured some of her best-known hits, such as ‘Training Season’, ‘One Kiss’, ‘Houdini’ and ‘Illusion’, while at one point, she was joined on stage by Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, as they performed ‘The Less I Know the Better’.

Earlier this year, meanwhile, Dua admitted that she was thinking about her Glastonbury performance “all the time”.

Speaking to the BBC, Dua shared: “I think about it all the time.

“50 percent of my thoughts go to Glastonbury, then the rest are for everyday tasks.”
