Dua Lipa admits fashion can make her feel ‘invincible’

Dua Lipa feels "invincible" when she’s wearing the right outfit.
The chart-topping singer and model has admitted that her unique fashion sense has occasionally served as a "shield" for her, revealing that it forms an integral part of her identity.
She shared: "Occasionally, fashion can make you feel invincible. I don’t know if it’s ever saved me, but it’s felt like a shield at times.
"I think it’s been a tool to finding myself, and expressing myself, in a way that I could never do in words."
Dua, 22, sees her style as an "extension" of her personality, and she feels it’s important that young people feel free to wear whatever they wish.
She told Refinery29: "It’s an extension of who I am, it’s how I express myself. You’re allowed to be whatever you choose to be and whatever you want to put out into the world. And I don’t think anybody’s really allowed to tell you can and can’t wear."
Meanwhile, Dua previously claimed that her music comes from her feelings of low self-confidence.
The ‘New Rules’ hitmaker revealed she channels her esteem issues into her music – but she still finds performing her tracks on stage to be very empowering.
The London-born beauty – who released her self-titled debut album in 2017 – said: "Getting up and performing my songs, I do feel very confident. But a lot of the songs come from a place that lacks that.
"Something I always wanted was a way to portray confidence in my music – trying to make myself feel better in certain situations. Like after someone didn’t think I was good enough, I wrote ‘Hotter Than Hell,’ which made it seem like he couldn’t get enough of me. I guess that makes me feel empowered."
