Drew Goddard is in talks to direct ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ spin-off ‘Sinister Six’.
The 39-year-old filmmaker wrote the script for the forthcoming film and is now negotiating a deal with the studio to helm the project, according to deadline.com.
Sony Pictures previously announced another ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ spin-off film, ‘Venom’.
The movie studio is planning to expand its comic book franchise in a manner similar to Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’ by announcing films focusing on the web-slinging hero’s villainous foes.
They hired five writers to work on the franchise, including the two spin-offs and the third and fourth instalments of ‘Amazing Spider-Man’.
The scribes include Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon with Goddard, who will work with ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, as well as director Marc Webb, on the films.
Meanwhile, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ starring Andrew Garfield will be released in the forthcoming month, and Kurtzman and Orci are already working on the third installment.
