Dragons’ Den could be delayed due to social distancing rules

Sara Davies thinks the upcoming series of ‘Dragon’s Den’ could be delayed.
The 36-year-old businesswoman – who joined the panel of investors in 2019 – believes the BBC show could face more delays after filming was suspended earlier this year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Though the programme has now been given the green light to resume filming, social distancing rules are still in place, making it difficult for the large crew to maintain the recommended two metres apart.
She told Metro.co.uk: "So we were due to start a new series of filming in the middle of April, which has obviously been postponed because they aren’t able to set up the studio in a way that everybody can [work].
"Such a big crew work on it, it’s just too big a programme that they aren’t able to film in a way that we’re not socially distanced.
"So they’ve postponed the filming for a couple of months to give themselves time to work out how we could adjust the crew and the staffing, to be able to manage within social distancing regulation."
Meanwhile, Michelle Mone has been in talks to join ‘Dragon’s Den’ after she turned down a number of previous offers to join the show.
The lingerie tycoon said: "In the past, I’ve been offered ‘Dragons’ Den’ and I’ve turned it down due to business commitments.
"But I just feel that after this whole coronavirus crisis is over, we need to be lifted up as individuals – we need to feel there is a real purpose in life and what we’re going to do with our lives.
"I might be open to something that might help to give people inspiration."
