Dr Alex George’s pays tribute to late brother Llŷr after funeral

Dr Alex George has paid tribute to his younger brother Llŷr following his funeral.

Last month, Alex- who shot to fame on ‘Love Island’ – revealed he had lost his "beautiful little brother to mental health" and Llŷr was laid to rest earlier this week.

Alex, 30, shared a picture of them together on Instagram and wrote: "Yesterday I said goodbye to my little brother Llŷr. It was the hardest day of my life. Except it wasn’t goodbye. Llŷr, your dream was to become a doctor, you will live that dream. Every patient I see, we will do it together, you and I.

"Your favorite passion is cars, every time I am out driving, I know you will be there laughing and smiling with me. I love you so much Llŷr, you are always with me, my boy (sic)."

He added in an Instagram Story message: "Thank you to everyone who came to the funeral. It would have meant so much to Llŷr seeing so many of you sharing your love for him. We will never forget."

Previous ‘Love Island’ contestants shared messages of support on Alex’s page.

Josh Denzel wrote: "Condolences to you and the family. Remember the good times," while Laura Anderson said: "Love you so much my strong pal. Was thinking of you. See you soon for our chats and endless hugs. Proud of you. Rest well Llŷr."

And Alex’s other celebrity friends also commented on the post, with Tallia Storm writing: "Thinking of you and your whole family Alex. Sending so much love and strength. Rest well Llŷr," while Kate Thornton said: "Sending you and your family all my love."

Alex announced the sad news of his brother’s death last month, in a post on Instagram, where he wrote: "I can’t believe I am actually writing this post. I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health. I love you so much Llŷr. The kindest and most caring soul. I was so proud of you starting medical school next month, you would have been the most incredible doctor. We are hurting so bad. No words can explain. As a family we are devastated. We love you and miss you so much. Please rest in peace x Our boy."
