Doctor Who: David Tennant and Tom Baker uniting for special story

David Tennant and Tom Baker are joining forces for a new ‘Doctor Who’ story.

The two stars – who played the Tenth and Fourth Doctors respectively on the BBC sci-fi show – will come together and reprise their roles for Big Finish’s upcoming audio adventure ‘Doctor Who: Out of Time’.

The story – which is the first in a new series pairing up previous Doctors – sees Tennant’s Time Lord at the Cathedral of Contemplation.

The setting is a place out of time where he can reflect on his legacy before his regeneration in ‘The End of Time’, but he is shocked to discover his Fourth incarnation already there – and the pair are forced to unite to battle the Daleks.

Tennant commented: "Tom Baker was obviously the first Doctor that I knew. I was small when he took over and I grew up through the seven years that he was the Doctor.

"I was a massive fan. I met him in John Menzies in Glasgow and he signed my book. I had a doll of him. All that.

"Tom Baker was very much the Doctor. There is something about the way he is associated with the character that seems utterly timeless."

‘Doctor Who: Out of Time 1’ is set to be released in August, and fans can already pre-order their copy on a collector’s edition CD for £10.00, while a digital download version is available for £8.99.

Both actors have worked with Big Finish a number of times over the years, and Baker recently recorded a ‘Doctor Who’ audio story entirely in lockdown.

He has also signed on to reprise his role as The Curator from ‘The Day of The Doctor’.
