Dizzee Rascal among the Urban Music Awards nominees

Dizzee Rascal has been nominated for Best Music Video gong at this year’s Urban Music Awards (UMA).
The 34-year-old rapper – whose real name is Dylan Mills – is one of the UK’s best-known hip-hop stars and Dizzee is hopeful that the video for his single ‘Bop N Keep It Dippin’ will win the accolade at the event in London on November 29.
Looking ahead to the awards, Dizzee said: "The Urban Music Awards recognised and supported my talent right from the beginning before anyone else did and I wouldn’t be where I am today without its continued support."
Other big-name nominees for the upcoming awards show include Drake, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Kanye West, all of whom are in the running for the Best International Artist prize.
Meanwhile, chart-topping star Dave has received nominations in three categories, including Best Music Video, Best Hip Hop Act and Artist of the Year.
In the Best Newcomer category, Amelia Monet, Big Zuu, Mostack, Ramz, Raye, Asco, ZieZie, IAMDDB, Octavian, Blay Vision, Jeshi and Basette will all be battling for the coveted gong.
Since 2003, the UMAs has allowed music fans to nominate and vote for their favourites in all categories.
Voting for this year’s UMAs starts online at urbanmusicawards.co/voting until November 20.
