Demi Lovato sued

Demi Lovato is being sued for "alleged copyright infringement".
The 24-year-old singer, UMG Recording and her producers, Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub, have been hit with a lawsuit by alt-pop duo Sleigh Bells, who claim that her track ‘Stars’ contains similarities that "transcend the realm of coincidence" with their song ‘Infinity Guitars’.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by Entertainment Tonight, "A comparison of the two songs reveals that, at the very least, the combination of the hand claps and bass drum, structured as three quarter beats and a rest, with the bass drum providing a counter-rhythm to the hand claps, is at least substantially similar in both works."
The producers responded in a statement, saying: "We did not use any samples in Demi Lovato’s song ‘Stars.’ Demi was also not involved with the production. She only wrote top line."
The band previously addressed their concerns in a tweet, saying: ".@ddlovato Demi Lovato flattered you guys sampled Infinity Guitars & Riot Rhythm for "Stars" but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those (sic)."
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran was recently sued for allegedly copying parts of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’.
The family of the late Ed Townsend – who co-wrote the 1973 hit track with Gaye – filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the red head, and claim Sheeran’s 2014 record ‘Thinking Out Loud’ was "strikingly similar" to the single in Gaye’s thirteenth studio album, according to TMZ.
The lawsuit read: "The defendants copied the ‘heart’ of ‘Let’s’ and repeated it continuously throughout ‘Thinking’.
"The melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic compositions of ‘Thinking’ are substantially and/or strikingly similar to the drum composition of ‘Let’s’."
