Davinia Taylor to return to Hollyoaks

Davinia Taylor is set to return to ‘Hollyoaks’ – 18 years after she walked away from the soap.
The former wild child turned her back on the programme almost two decades ago but is thrilled she’s been asked to reprise her role as party animal Jude Cunningham, a role she portrayed from 1996 until 1998, in the Channel 4 show.
She explained: "I’m thrilled to be going back into ‘Hollyoaks’ and bringing Jude back. I am desperate to see what on earth she has been doing for the past 18 years and what trouble she will no doubt cause when she returns to the village.
"I’m looking forward to seeing the cast and crew that I used to work with and being reunited with my old mate Stephanie Waring (Cindy Cunningham) as well as Jimmy McKenna (Jack Osborne) and Nick Pickard (Tony Hutchinson) and meeting the on/off screen talent who work on the show now."
The 38-year-old actress hasn’t had the best time in the spotlight following her highly-publicised wedding to football agent Dave Gardner in 2003, her stint in rehab in 2005 and the breakdown of her marriage in 2010 but, after taking herself away from the limelight, she now feels ready to kick-start her career on the Primrose Hill set once again.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Davinia has been out of the industry for over a decade while she focused on her young family. But she is excited to come back to TV and Jude is one of Hollyoaks’ best loved characters of all time."
Davinia will begin shooting her scenes in the summer, with the view that her scenes will go to air in the autumn, in what is believed to be part of an explosive comeback storyline.
