Davina McCall still suffers anxiety attacks after her ‘Sport Relief’ challenge.
The 47-year-old TV presenter ran, cycled and swam 500 miles from Edinburgh to London in aid of the charity in February 2014, but she had to be hauled from the water as she swam across Lake Windermere.
And Davina admits she’s still tormented by the experience, explaining: "Every time I go out in the winter weather I’m thinking, ‘Jesus, I was training in this!
"Every time I see a lake I feel a bit anxious."
Davina also confirmed she suffered a serious injury to her knee, leaving her unable to train and causing her weight to increase.
But Davina, who has three children – Holly, 13, Tilly, 11, and eight-year-old Chester – is determined to ensure that her kids get plenty of exercise and stay healthy.
She told Fit and Well magazine: "I don’t tell them they have to get fit — that would make it a chore.
"We just say, ‘Come on, let’s go out for a bike ride’. It’s a family outing. We never, ever talk about being thin or losing weight.
"I don’t say, ‘Does my bum look big in these trousers?’"
