Davina McCall opens up about cancer fears

Davina McCall says she has finally stopped worrying about getting cancer like her late sister.
The TV presenter’s beloved sister Caroline passed away in 2012 after battling lung cancer and while Davina, 50, used to fear that "every niggle" could be cancer, she is now determined to live her life free from worry and fear.
She told the Sunday Mirror: "One in two of us is going to end up with cancer. Cancer used to play on my mind.
"Quite close to Caroline’s death I definitely would think about every niggle ‘Oh, is this cancer?’."
Now Davina channels her energy into working out, which is beneficial for both her mental and physical health.
The star – who split from husband Matthew Robertson in November after 17 years – said: "The effects of exercise on mental health are extraordinary.
"Weirdly, I exercise because it makes me feel so good," she says. "I like the way I look in a picture on the red carpet – I feel proud of myself, which gives a confidence boost.
"If I haven’t trained for a week – say I’ve been busy at work – and I get to the weekend, I think ‘I really don’t want to do it. I can’t be bothered’.
"But if I don’t do it, I will have a bit of a cloud over my head all day. And within 30 seconds of getting out of the house, I think ‘I feel amazing’."
Davina and Matthew have three children together, Holly, 16, Tilly, 14, and 11-year-old Chester, and she credits exercise with helping her after they were born.
She said: "It definitely helped me after babies, I didn’t have post-natal depression but I had an argument with my body.
"They say nine months up, nine months down when you have a baby, but I was more like nine months up, two years down. I really struggled losing the weight and would get angry.
"But when I started training I learnt to love myself a bit more."
