Davina McCall on lockdown anxiety

Davina McCall has started suffering with anxiety for the first time because of lockdown.
The former ‘Big Brother’ host admitted she has been feeling uncertain about "the unknown" amid the coronavirus pandemic, and her change in perspective has left her "freaked out".
Taking to Instagram Live, she said: "When work stopped four weeks ago I fired off all cylinders for four days.
"And then I hit a wall. And I suddenly got tired and unmotivated.
"The last two days I got a wave of anxiety about the unknown that I have never ever experienced before, and it really freaked me out!
"I am feeling a bit better today. I think, like me, people are having waves [of anxiety]."
The 52-year-old star described herself as usually "annoyingly chipper", and acknowledged her "enthusiasm and positivity" can divide people.
She added: "Generally, I would almost class myself as annoyingly chipper. And I know that everyone is a bit like Marmite.
"My enthusiasm and positivity can be phenomenally annoying to a lot of people. But it is what I am and it is who I am."
During the live stream, Davina – who is in lockdown with her children Holly, 18, Tilly, 16, and 13-year-old Chester – also told her followers about her feelings of abandonment.
She revealed her mother Florence Knock – who sadly passed away in 2008 – left her when she was just four years old.
Davina’s mum left her with her grandmother, and told the star – who previously discussed the issue with a hypnotist – she was going on a two-week ski trip, but "she wasn’t coming back".
Speaking this week, she added: "I remember the time, I was in the kitchen. And I looked at my granny. I thought, ‘I feel terrible, my mum hasn’t come to pick me up yet.’
"She’s still looking after me, she must think, ‘Oh, it’s such a pain in the bum having my granddaughter here. I’m still having to look after her.’
"Actually she loved having me there, but that’s how I was playing it out in my head."
