David Tennant to join Doctor Who watchalong

David Tennant is set to join fans for the next ‘Doctor Who’ watchalong.
The 49-year-old actor and his castmate Catherine Tate – who played the Tenth Doctor and companion Donna Noble respectively – will join writer Russell T Davies and director Graeme Harper in providing commentary via Twitter on the 2008 episodes: ‘The Stolen Earth’ and ‘Journey’s End’.
The pair were joined by Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen), Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) and Micky Smith (Noel Clarke) as they teamed up to fight the Daleks in the two-parter.
The watchalong begins at 7pm on Sunday (19.04.20) with Russell promising fans "brand new" content, one of which he teased is "the best thing I’ve ever made".
He tweeted: "THIS SUNDAY. The big one! The all-time epic! Tweeted by me, Graeme Harper and… others. With extra surprises released on the day – one of which is brand new and the best thing I’ve ever had made. Truly. It all happens on Sunday! (sic)"
The fan event is the latest in a number of re-watches featuring stars of the hit sci-fi series.
Former showrunner Steven Moffat previously joined Karen Gillan (Amy Pond), Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams) and Matt Smith (The Eleventh Doctor) to live-tweet during a watchalong of the opening episode of series five, ‘The Eleventh Hour’.
Steven has also written a short story featuring the current Time Lord played by Jodie Whittaker.
The story, titled ‘The Terror of the Umpty Ums’, was posted on the show’s official BBC website and features a boy called David, who is actually a DeathBord 400 called Karpagnon and plans to end the human race.
However, his reign of terror is cut short when the Doctor starts to give him advice.
