David Tennant and Catherine Tate reunite for new comedy

David Tennant and Catherine Tate are to reunite in a new Sky One comedy.
The former ‘Doctor Who’ co-stars will re-team in a comedy drama titled ‘Americons’, which is thought to follow the pair’s characters as they make a big move to the United States.
According to Deadline, the show is said to be in the advanced stages of development for the Sky channel.
The comedy drama is being written by 50-year-old Catherine – who previously penned and starred in sketch show ‘The Catherine Tate Show’ – and is set to be produced by Welsh production company Bad Wolf, who have previously produced HBO’s popular crime series ‘The Night Of’ and the upcoming screen adaption of Philip Pullman’s ‘His Dark Materials’ novels.
After first appearing together in the 2006 ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas special, entitled ‘The Runaway Bride’, Catherine – who played Donna Noble – went on to become the Time Lord’s regular companion for the fourth season in 2008.
The pair worked together on stage in a performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, in which David portrayed Benedick and Catherine played Beatrice.
The stars are also set to lend their vocal talents to Disney’s newest version of the ‘Ducktales’ animated TV series, in which David voices Scrooge McDuck and Catherine plays villainous sorceress Magica De Spell.
