David Beckham buying a pub

David Beckham is buying a pub.
The 43-year-old retired footballer and his friend Guy Ritchie – who already owns the Lukin pub in west London and has hit own Gritchie Brewing Company on his farm in Wiltshire – are splashing out £3 million on the Walmer Castle in Notting Hill, also West London, and the sportsman is planning an extensive redesign of his new business.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "He can’t wait to get stuck into making it just as he wants it."
The pub is the latest business venture for David, who has been busy launching his MLS soccer team Inter Miami FC.
And he recently admitted he had "always dreamed" of having his own team in the Florida city.
He said in July: "I’m passionate about the game. I’m passionate about being successful. I’ve played professional soccer for the last 22 years. I could have gone to another city, but this was always my city. It’s always where I wanted to have our team."
mpagne for £75.
The former England captain – who has four children, Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and seven-year-old Harper, with wife Victoria – has spent four years trying to get his MLF franchise, which he part owns with Bolivian entrepreneur Marcelo Claure, off the ground.
He said: "It has been a process. It’s been painful at times. I think the fact that it has taken this long, the fact that it’s taken four years actually has worked as a positive.
"I’ve always believed in the project. That’s why, for me, I never gave up. I knew Miami was the city. I knew this was going to be special. There have been many (hurdles). I’m a persistent person and I don’t like to lose."
