Dave Berry gets asked to do Strictly Come Dancing every year

Dave Berry gets approached for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ "every year".
The 38-year-old radio presenter has admitted he finds himself in the pipeline for the ballroom and latin show before every new series but nothing seems to come of it.
Asked if he’s ever been asked to take part in the programme, his Capital FM ‘Breakfast Show’ co-host Lilah Parsons said: "Dave gets asked to go on every year."
Dave exclusively added to BANG Showbiz: "They’ve never actually formally asked me, but it’s always in the frame, just to whip up interest so I’m flattered."
However, the television star is adamant he would have snubbed the offer if he’d been signed for the current series as he wouldn’t want to be up against politician Ed Balls.
He explained: "I couldn’t possibly be on the same show as Ed Balls."
However, although he can’t pull himself away from the television screen at the weekend when the dancing show is on because he’s amazed by the talent on the dance floor, Dave can’t wait for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ to return next month.
His co-host George Shelley – who appeared on the last series of the creepy-crawly show – is also heavily involved in the forthcoming installment after he was approached by bosses to make an appearance on the spin-off ‘I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp’.
George explained: "Yes I’m obviously doing the show and everything in the mornings so I wouldn’t want to miss that. It’ll be like going on a school holiday."
Tune into the Capital London Breakfast show with Dave Berry, George and Lilah, week days, 6am – 10am and Saturday, 6am – 9am.
