Danny O’Donoghue up for return to The Voice UK

Danny O’Donoghue is considering a return to ‘The Voice UK’.

The 34-year-old singer starred as a coach in the BBC One singing competition alongside Will.I.Am, Jessie J and Tom Jones for the show’s first two series’ but announced his departure in 2013 to concentrate on his band, The Script.

However, the ‘Superheroes’ singer has revealed he would not be opposed to returning to the show if his bandmates were happy for him to take part, and the producers wanted him to appear again.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the 2014 Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Awards in London last night (03.12.14), he said: "Yeah of course I would consider it [a return]. I loved doing it, I loved being on the show.

"Obviously it’s not just me, I’m in a band, and our band has gone on to bigger and better things since the show, but if I was asked back, you never know. We might put out a greatest hits and then I’ll do a bit of TV and Glen [Power, the band’s drummer] will be on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ or something."

Despite departing from the show in order to concentrate on his own music career, the singer-songwriter revealed he now feels much more confident on stage since appearing on the programme.

He explained: "It really calmed my nerves when it comes to big events and television shows, because I was always nervous going onto those shows because it was like, ‘gasp, it’s ‘The Voice,’ or ‘gasp, it’s the ‘X Factor,’ but just being part of the show you just realise that everyone just wants to make a great show. Nobody’s there to make a fool out of anybody, they’re just there to make a great show, have a happy time, and go home, so that’s been a good job for me."
