Danny Mac asked to return to Hollyoaks

Danny Mac has been asked to return to ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 28-year-old bowed out of the Channel 4 soap as lovable Mark ‘Dodger’ Savage a few months ago following four years in the role but he has admitted he’s been bombarded with fan mail since his departure asking him to go back.
He explained: "I’ve not really watched the show since I left, so I don’t know what’s going on, or even if Dodger’s still on the run. It was so nice that the writers didn’t want to kill him off, because they had plenty of opportunity to do that! They always said that they’d have me back – that’s a compliment."
And, although he’s a big hit with viewers, Danny doesn’t have too many issues when he’s going about his daily business.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he said: "People don’t tend to spot me that much when I’m out and about. But it was the same for me when I was in ‘Hollyoaks’ – if you were on TV a lot that week you’d get recognised at the weekend, but if you weren’t then it was quite different. It’s a fickle industry.
"The glory of ‘Hollyoaks’ is that people forget you quickly – which is good for me, because I do like my private life. As much as the attention I got was also positive, it’s not something I miss. I like being able to walk down the high street at home and it not be an issue. Normality is brilliant!"
