Danny Dyer wants to remain on EastEnders for 10 years

Danny Dyer wants to stay on ‘EastEnders’ for another 10 years – and then "take a backseat".
The 42-year-old actor admits he is "very grateful" to star as Mick Carter on the BBC One soap, and he would love to stick around until 2030.
He said: "Another 10 stretch and then I’ll just take a backseat.
"I love ‘EastEnders’. I’m very grateful it’s a lovely, lovely job. I’m on the best soap ever invented."
Some fans have speculated that Danny’s alter-ego could be set to meet his maker during the soap’s 35th anniversary episodes, when a main character is to be killed off, but he thinks Mick will be OK.
He said: "I think I’m alright."
As well as avoiding death, Danny had been going without meat, eggs and dairy products as he went vegan for the month as part of Veganuary.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I tried that Veganuary."
But Danny had to quit just two weeks in because it was "like a science to eat".
Danny recently teased ‘EastEnders’ fans they are in for a "shock" when they see the show’s 35th anniversary eps.
He said: "We’re in the middle of filming that at the moment and you’re going to be shocked. There is talk of someone getting killed off. It is a massive shock to all of us, the whole cast."
The ‘Football Factory’ actor is up for the Serial Drama Performance gong at this month’s National Television Awards for his role as Mick, and ‘EastEnders’ is up for the Serial Drama prize.
And he thinks the show deserves to win the top gong after getting back to its best in 2019 under the guidance of the BBC’s Head of Continuing Drama Kate Oates.
Danny said: "I feel that we’ve been a sleeping giant to be honest. We have been in the doldrums for a little while and now we’re back and we’re very strong and I feel we deserve to win best soap."
