Danny Dyer lands Sexiest Male nomination

Danny Dyer has been shortlisted for Sexiest Male at the British Soap Awards.

The ‘EastEnders’ newcomer, who joined the show as pub landlord Mick Carter last December, is among the five soap hunks nominated for the Sexiest Male prize at this year’s TV awards ceremony, which takes place next month.

Danny will compete against ‘Hollyoaks’ stars Danny Mac and Ashley Taylor Dawson, ‘Coronation Street’ bad boy Ryan Thomas and ‘Emmerdale’ actor Matthew Wolfenden.

Michelle Keegan – a five-time winner in the Sexiest Female category – is once again shortlisted for the prize along with fellow ‘Coronation Street’ beauty Georgia May Foote, Jacqueline Jossa from ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ stars Jennifer Metcalfe and Jorgie Porter.

Former ‘Corrie’ star Julie Hesmondhalgh leads the nominations for Best Actress following the demise of her best-loved character Hayley Cropper in January. Julie will compete against Lindsey Coulson and Lacey Turner from ‘EastEnders’, and Stephanie Davis and Nikki Sanderson from ‘Hollyoaks’

Soap fans will decide the winners of six of the categories – including Sexiest Male and Female, Best Villain, Best Actor and Actress and Soap of the Year – while a panel of judges will decide the other ten categories.

The British Soap Awards, hosted by Phillip Schofield, will air on ITV next month.
