Danny Cipriani takes part in Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge

Danny Cipriani has agreed to take part in ‘Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge’.
The 29-year-old rugby player jumped at the chance to get stuck into the most physically enduring, toughest game show on television but never expected the experience to be as draining as it was because he’s used to running up and down the pitch every day.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I think they tried to adapt it a bit to make it suitable for the gym. They made it relatively tough but not too tough that people were in tears. It was a good day. I took parts in bits of it because I had training yesterday and I’ve got training tomorrow and then a game on Sunday.
"I need to save as much energy as possible. We work out three times a week as a squad, it’s all part of the training. I like the process, I like the challenge and everything I do building up to it is to make sure I can perform better so it goes hand-in-hand with what I’m doing. Rugby is going really well, we’ve got another nine rounds to go."
And it’s not just his training schedule that’s tough, the heartthrob also has to follow a meal plan set out for him by his coach.
He explained: "I have got quite strict meals that I stick to in the week. You have to eat a certain amount of proteins, carbs and fats in the week. I think that is the biggest change in sport over the last couple of years, sports people and players are paying attention to that change of diet. It does really shape how you feel and train for the rest of the day. I think it is a huge change and a lot of people are sticking to it especially in rugby. It doesn’t mean I am ever starving or trying to lose weight."
‘Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge’ will hit screens on Dave on January 20 at 8pm.
