Daneil Mays rescued Daniel Radcliffe from a charging zebra

Daniel Mays saved Daniel Radcliffe from a charging zebra during filming for ‘Frankenstein’.

The 36-year-old actor revealed he saved the ‘Harry Potter’ star from a rogue circus beast while they were standing on set for the new film, which also features James McAvoy, Jessica Brown Findlay and Andrew Scott.

Talking about the strange incident, Mays told the Daily Mail newspaper: "As we were a circus there were a lot of animals on set and one evening a few of us were standing chatting when, in my peripheral vision, I saw this zebra bolting straight towards us, pulling his animal handler with him.

"So I dived on Dan and the director and got them out of the way. Instinct just took over add I just thought, ‘I need to save the talent!"

He then joked: "I kept reminding Dan that I saved his life – that boy owes me!"

Meanwhile, Radcliffe claimed recently that he wants his fans to forget about ‘Harry Potter’.

Speaking on ‘The Chris Evans Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2, Daniel said that rather than trying to disassociate himself from the character, he’s instead trying to work on different kinds of projects.

The 25-year-old actor explained: "It’s about building up as diverse and interesting a body of work as I can."

‘Frankenstein’ is due to open in 2015.
