Dancing on Ice pros quit before show

‘Dancing on Ice’ has been thrown into chaos after two of its professional skaters allegedly decided to quit the show.
Bosses have been forced to pull in some replacement skaters after Meg Marschall and her ex-boyfriend Lloyd Jones resigned from the reboot – just over a month before it’s set to hit screens – following a blazing row backstage over their split.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Meg and Lloyd have a lot of history and thought they could bury the hatchet and be on the same show. But they couldn’t do that and it resulted in ugly rows backstage causing them to be hauled in by production.
"Everyone agreed that the best course of action would be to let them go. And they’ve now been replaced. It has called a huge chaos for ITV and the show as the series starts in January and the process of finding new sexy skaters was long and painful."
The pair – who had split earlier this year – agreed to bury the hatchet for the sake of the show and had been paired up with Kem Cetinay and Donna Air.
The source explained: "To make matters worse they had already both met their partners — Lloyd was with Donna Air, and Meg with Kem Cetinay.
"Production bosses didn’t put up much of a fight and they understood the decision to leave. I think both of them thought it was just easier if they’re not having to be around each other all of the time.
"The only thing production were conscious of when they had the conversation was that it would be unfair to keep one and not the other. So they both had to go."
However, bosses already had a few replacements lined up in case of injury, so Kem will now be partnered with Alex Murphy while Donna will be with Mark Hanretty.
An ITV spokesman said: "Megan and Lloyd have left the show for personal reasons. They will be replaced by Alex Murphy and Mark Hanretty. None of the professional skaters begin training with their celebrity partners until next week."
