Dancing on Ice bosses fork out on heaters for judges

The ‘Dancing on Ice’ bosses have been forced to fork out on mini heaters for the judges.
Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean spend over two hours sat beside the rink every weekend watching the contestants show off their newly-learnt skills on ice, but their stationary positions mean they’re often hit by continuous cold draft.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Matt Evers – who was voted out of the competition in week one alongside Candice Brown – said: "Each judge has had to have a Dyson heater behind them now. Well we are in a marquee built on a big slab of ice."
However, although the tough-talking panel keep their legs toasty with heaters, the hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have to do "little dances" to keep themselves warm.
Matt added: "Poor Holly and Phil have to do little dances during breaks to keep warm!"
The producers are no doubt particularly concerned about the judges catching a chill because some of the contestants and their celebrity partners have been struck down with various illness – including sickness bugs and cold and flu – over the past few weeks.
Jake Quickenden’s partner Vanessa Bauer has been bed ridden over the past three days and the pair are still unsure whether she’ll be well enough to perform this weekend.
A source said recently: "Vanessa has been diagnosed with norovirus after being taken ill this week. The couple had planned on tackling the head banger this week but that’s now in jeopardy as they may not have enough time to train.
"Jake may even have to perform with a reserve partner or be given a free pass to next week’s show if the pair are unable to compete."
Jake took to his Instagram account yesterday earlier this week to express his concern after he was banned from coming into contact with Vanessa for 72 hours.
He wrote: "So we hit a road block at training as Vanessa has got the flu and I can’t come into contact with her for 72 hours.
"So we have’t got a routine, so I don’t know what I am going to do. Vanessa always comes up with the fire routines and now she is poorly and she has got flu and I dunno… do you reckon I should try and do it. (sic)"
