Daisy May Cooper and Johnny Vegas join Taskmaster

Daisy May Cooper and Johnny Vegas have joined the new series of ‘Taskmaster’.

The ‘This Country’ star and the ‘Benidorm’ actor will be joined by Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring on the Channel 4 game show, which will see the quintet try to tackle perplexing and extraordinary challenges.

Host Greg Davies and his assistant Alex Horne – who created the programme – will be on hand to approve of the celebs’ tasks.

Daisy admitted she had an "absolute blast" filming the show and is "slightly in love" with Johnny.

She wrote on Instagram: "The rumors are true, I shall be in the next series of taskmaster! It’s been an absolute blast and I may be slightly in love with Johnny vegas. (sic)"

Johnny admitted Daisy is his "heroine".

He tweeted: "She scares me, but in a dangerously hilarious way #daisymaycooper you’re my hero/heroine

"There is a crazy creative/anger issue fuelled crush going on between #daisymaycooper and myself. The child ain’t mine but my tiny hands and task mastering incompetence are all her’s. Have my points, all of ’em and take this @Channel4 @taskmaster by the f###### horns crazy lady (sic)"

What’s more, in response to the show’s trailer, Richard wrote on Twitter: "Wait! What? Is that what I’ve been doing? (sic)"

Ed Gamble, who won last year’s series, replied: "Cannot wait to see how you f*** this up (sic)"

The show was previously on Dave but has been moved to Channel 4.

Ed previously admitted it was a "great" opportunity for the show to be seen by more people.

He wrote: "Dave did such an amazing job – from commissioning the show to promoting it and letting them have artistic freedom.

"But nobody can deny that any opportunity for the show to be seen by more people is anything other than great."
